McNamara Terminal

McNamara Terminal at Detroit Airport is served by Air France, Delta Airlines and AeroMexico. See below further information about the terminal at DTW Airport.


Inter-terminal transportation

Both terminals are connected by a free shuttle bus, which is accessible from l-94 (Exit 198) or l-275 (Exit 18). They are located on the ground transportation level.

The shuttle bus follows the route displayed below:

North Terminal and Westin Hotel (7 minutes)

Westin Hotel and McNamara Terminal (2 minutes)

McNamara Terminal and North Terminal (7 minutes)

The buses have a 10 minutes’ frequency.

The Economy Parking Garage is connected to the McNamara Terminal by the free shuttle bus.

On the other hand, the ExpressTram stands for a people mover which joints Concourses at McNamara Terminal.


McNamara Terminal consists of the following levels:

- Lower level: International Arrivals

- First level: Arrivals level. Fins in this level the domestic and the international arrivals separated. Also the baggage claims can be found in     this level.

- Second level: After the security check, get to the Concourses and also to the Westin Hotel, which is located between the gateway that        leads to Concourse A and gate A35. On the other hand, through the pedestrian bridge, passengers are able to get to both parking and       ground transportation centre.

- Third level: Departures level. Find here also the check-in facilities. Move to the lower level concourses and gates through escalators.



McNamara Terminal hosts three Concourses: Concourse A, Concourse B and Concourse C, which host about 100 boarding gates.

Concourse A: It is home of boarding gates A1-A12, A15, A17-A21, A23-A25, A27-A31, A33-A36, A38, A40, A43, A45-A47, A49-A51, A53-A57, A59-A61, A63, A64-A78.

Concourse A is 1-mile-long (1.6 kilometers). It is recommended that passengers estimate correctly the time of the arrival at the terminal if they need to cross the concourse.

Express Tram has three stations inside Concourse A: South Station, Terminal Station and North Station. See below the stations location:

Terminal Station: It is located close to gates A38/A40 with easy access to gates A29-55, and at the same time, to Concourses B and C.

North Station: It is located close to gate A67. Let easy access to gates A56-78.

South Station: It is located close to gate A11. Let easy access to gates A1-28.

Concourse A connects with Westin hotel.

Concourse B: It is home of boarding gates B1-B8, B10-B12, B15, B16, B18-B21.

Concourse C: It is home of boarding gates C1-C7 (Lower Level), C8-C12, C14-C25, C27.

Concourse A links via a tunnel (Light Tunnel) with Concourse B and C.

There are shuttles that run between both terminals (on the Ground Transportation Level).

McNamara Terminal has a couple of worth-to-see attractions within its facilities:

  • Light Tunnel: A colorful 700 ft. light tunnel which connects Concourses B, C and A with the terminal.
  • Water feature: An elliptical-shaped black granite 39 ft. water system that shoots water through leap frog devices. It can be found in Concourse A.
