Detroit Airport Buses

There are two transportation services offering bus transportation, see more information below:


AirRide - McNamara Ground Transportation

Service is only provided at McNamara Terminal. The Ride links Detroit Airport with different stations in the Ann Arbor Area.

See below their location at both airport terminals:  

  • McNamara Terminal: Departures level, North end, Gate 1.
  • North Terminal: Ground Transportation Centre.


Smart - McNamara Ground Transportation

The public bus service runs between Detroit Airport and Southeast Michigan.

- Routes 125 (Fort Street – Detroit) and 280 (Middle Belt Road): serves the North Terminal.

- Route 125: serves McNamara Terminal.

On the other hand, SMART offers a high frequency service called FAST, which includes limited stops and connects downtown Detroit with suburbs.

Route 261 (Michigan Avenue) stops at both McNamara and North Terminals.

Bus service is provided from both terminals at the Ground Transportation Center.

Please note that AirRide and SMART transportation services are now located in the McNamara Ground Transportation Center.

  • General (19-64 years): $2.00
  • Youth (6-18 years): $1.00
  • Elders (65+ years): $0.50
  • Disabled: $0.50
